disappointedYeah I suppose to anyone else reading this and if they're not familiar with these guys directly wouldn't understand where I'm (and a lot of others apparently) are coming from. I'm gonna have to give you some back ground. Matt and Dale Tolosa (Jedhead1 and Anasian Skywalker respectively) are brothers, they are high standing members in EVERY major costuming club like the Rebel Legion and the 501st. Matt is also our CR in SF Fan Force and Dale is a Council member in SF Fan Force (the group I helped established from the start). However since they are high standing members of RL and the 501st they get to do a lot of high profile Star Wars events for LFL. That in itself is great and awesome, we have no issues with that at all.
However, over the last couple of years they've leaned more and more to sole costuming events and Matt was even XO of the entire Rebel Legion at one point (while being CR of SFFF) but he quit being XO over there a couple months ago. His brother Dale is mainly a follower and does what Matt does but he's a council member on the SFFF as well. Overall we feel that people can join any club they wish and even holding positions in other clubs is fine (even though Fan Force TOS spells out officers not holding mutiple club offices.). This is not the issue... The issue now stems from Matt and Dales near obsessive compulsion to feel entitled to EVERY high profile related SW project there is for themselves and their attempts to circumvent and even step on other to get to participate.
Here's the story (you can skip the first couple of paragraphs if you a member here and obviously familiar with Adywan and the stuff he's doing! lol...): I don't know if you ever seen or heard about a very amazing Star Wars fan project called "Star Wars Revisited" created by a guy named Adywan who lives in the UK. The SW Revisited project in short is to refilm parts, update, and restore the continuity of the original trilogy and even eventually the prequels. This is a fan en devour as the lead of the project, Adywan, was extremely disappointed with the Special Editions and the DVDs. Star Wars ANH Revisited was finished in 2007 and released in 2008. Very cool right? Anyway currently Adywan is working on Empire Strikes Back Revisited! Originally I had no idea how things would pan out but I started a Facebook group called "Make Star Wars ANH Revisited, the OFFICIAL version of SW ANH"... It was just for fun because this is what I believe... Lucas just doesn't care anymore and Adywan is what Lucas was about 30+ years ago but unlike Lucas, he actually listened to the fans. Anyway, someone else who knew Adywan found my group and started a group for ESB: Revisited. We then started to talk more and became friends (Fred!) allowing each other to be administrators for each others Revisited Facebook groups. I then changed the name of my group to simply "Adywan's Star Wars ANH Revisited": http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=8
So one day... Adywan himself ends up joining both our groups which was very awesome. He now updates his project and progress via video clips and photos on these boards ALL the time now via our groups. Anyway a lil while later Adywan posts a request for assistance in doing certain costumes and filming certain shots for him. This was like if Lucas was calling up his friends back in the day and asking "hey do you wanna help me make a movie called Star Wars?". LOL! His request was someone in complete X-wing gear to add on to a scene during the battle of Hoth. I happen to have full X-wing gear but I told him that the Hoth X-wing gear is different as it has a lighter orange thermal jacket, white gloves, and white boots. He noted that and was somewhat at a loss as to how to bring his idea to life because not many people do Hoth gear at all. So I told him that I have MANY resource on our side of the planet and I know virtually everyone who could help pull this off. I figured this would be an amazing project to do with ALL my friends because... I mean... COME ON! TO BE IN EMPIRE STRIKES BACK?! The greatest of all the Star Wars movies?! It was a chance for doing something utterly legendary with someone who's already legendary so I told Adywan that I can scramble the help and do the impossible and coordinate an effort for the costumes, gear, equipment, people we need to shoot the scenes and he wants:
So Adywan agrees to let me tackle the impossible as NO ONE in Cali does these costumes. So I came here, thinking that the biggest fans of the Star Wars community in the Bay Area would be all over this especially with my ties to people in all the costuming groups. At first everyone was excited... UNTIL... I mention that "LFL may not smile upon this project". We're not doing anything wrong but we're essentially showing up LFL/ILM and the gajillions of dollars for special effects which made the DVDs more horrible actually and we're doing it with a bare bones crew, barely decent equipment, and sheer force of will. After I said that, Matt and Dale, who are vitually in bed with LFL because of RL/501st ties totally drop from sight concerning Revisited. For the last 1.5 months NOTHING, other then some off comments about ROTJ Revisited (which we're not even close to being on yet), they say and do NOTHING to help. Even their initial help which were people how had the costume else where were dead ends and this is before I mention the LFL not smiling thing. So overall they were useless especially after I mentioned the LFL thing. So for the last 2 months, I've gotten a crew of volunteers, costumes parts and accessories, costume designers, and even a camera crew with their own equipment. They are EAGER AND READY AND COMPLETELY READY AND EXCITED to go to ACTUAL snow in Tahoe to pull this off... However from Matt and Dale... nothing... utter silence. So I just figured they didn't want to help and that was totally fine to.

It is that day Matt asked if "someone" has Adywan's contact... and I'm like ummm the only someone who does is me... so why aren't you directly asking ME... Curious at best and had I seen that on the day of I may have given it too him but I actually didn't see this on the 21st because I was out of town visiting friends. Fortunately for me I saw his post and Dales post on Dec. 25th... Christmas freaking Day... and Dale apparently all the sudden come out of the wood work with full X-wing Hoth gear saying that it was their attempt to help me for the project... So after 1.5 months of not saying NOTHING in the way of helping with the project after I mention" LFL may not smile upon it" and we're working so hard in getting the materials and man power we need all in the last two months using so many resource. ONLY NOW... when the impossible is possible they want to help. I find the timing very convenient.
Not only that but they attempt circumvention and going behind my back to contact the leader of the project (Ady). I wonder why... Matt's excuse is that they wanted to make "suggestions" and ask questions which is an utter load. First of all, there are two entire forums for that called originaltrilogy.com (the link above) and on Facebook (duh! LOL!). If they didn't want to go that route I told them that they should just write everything down and I can get it to Ady directly cos you know... he and I are kinda WORKING TOGETHER and all... I would of gave them credit cos I really do not care about suggesting minor stuff. But then they all the sudden have full Hoth X-wing gear (very crappy Hoth X-wing gear if you saw it) and want to talk to Ady. Err... hello? 2+2? Like seriously you only want to make "suggestions" to the man who's so busy with stuff and lives in the UK? Who the hell are you in the first place to direct suggest a damn thing on his personal e-mail and such? SARCASM COMING: So like... there's NO WAY you'll mention that your own brother has full Hoth X-wing gear and such at all right? Cos we all know Matt and Dale don't want the glory in anything SW right? No way, they don't want to be in this high profile Star Wars project now that we've got virtually all the things we need anyway without you direct help right? No way you'll attempt to ask Ady what he thinks of Dale's cobbled together gear supposedly in 1-day... RIGHT? Come on guys, don't piss on us and tell us it's rain...
See, it would of been fine if they had openly thrown their support to us like weeks ago when my other friend Tom dropped out as Luke in X-wing Hoth gear because he's a white guy and has blue eyes and Luke's frame (yes, I orginally ask him so that just shows I never wanted that in the first place). I even told Matt and Dale that info about Tom dropping out at an event a few weeks ago at an event, had Matt and Dale has stepped up right at that very second and said "hey dude, we have most of the gear and we think we can cobble it together for the shot you need. How can we help?" then I would of been totally fine with that. However, at that point in time the project, things still looked impossible for me and LFL still would of been frowning. They had something to lose... But when it DOES look possible and we're all so close at doing the impossible and pulling off something that would be epically legendary they secretly and furthermore purposefully maneuver behind my back they make their improvised Hoth X-wing gear and then request Ady's info BEFORE revealing they have the full set of gear for the biggest part in the project and thus the biggest spot light. Totally uncool...
In my book it's out right deception and betrayal to further their own egos, as well as once again... they would be in a high profile SW project. The very moment their need to be glorified over came their fear of LFL THEN they wanted to "help" but not just "help" but out right claim that they should be the ones to do the biggest role. I am utterly disgusted and enraged at this continuing self serving attitude and utterly selfish shows of ego to satisfy their insatiable need for the SW spotlight. Like it's the Force given birthright or something... Especially after I came to everyone in good faith and trust so that we could all work together and have an amazing experience.
Ady has gone out of his way to insure the fans get something pure and untainted by greed that has become LFL because seriously... We all know Lucas doesn't give a fierfek anymore. Ady's doing these Revisited projects for the love of the movies. Furthermore he's doing it for no gain and only to see if he actually can pull it off. I respected that SO much... I wanted us ALL to participate in this and help each other. Everyone of my other friends who know of Revisited IMMEDIATLY said hell yeah, without a second thought or hesitation and I am so thankful for people like them who only considered it as something REALLY cool to work on like I have. For Matt and Dale to run their op on me AND on Christmas Day has pissed me off to no end... They said they made the X-wing Hoth costume on a whim... No, going to Vegas for a weekend is a "whim", It's spontaneous and fun. Making an entire modification to a costume for a film project I was entrusted with is pre-meditated, deceptive, and overall a betrayal of my trust and the trust of everyone involved right now.
Sorry guys, as I said... long story. I'm sure you noted my tone utterly shifted which just shows how enraged I am. Anyway I hope that helps, there's tons more but I won't get into that now. This is the main part of the current reason for my latests actions. It CAN NOT stand... Not anymore. Now my club that I virtually lead a who other war for to establish is shaky but it's okay, everyone who knows these guys and knows what's up have opening condemned their actions and I for one think it's about down these selfish self serving fierfeks get brought down a few thousand notches. They picked the wrong person to run an op on.
